Jaipur's Amber Fort(india)

Amer Fort

Amer Fort is a fort located in Amer, Rajasthan, India. Amer is a town with an area of 4 square kilometers located 11 kilometers from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Located high on a hill, it is the principal tourist attraction in Jaipur. Beautiful and magnificent Palace at a very good location. Despite the traffic when we reach the top, we get an amazing scenario. The best time to visit this palace according to me is during dawn and dusk. The gentle breeze and the atmosphere is amazing during that time. It was an amazing experience and a great spot to spend time with family and friends. I don't have words to elaborate on the beauty of the palace. It is good to get a guide to go through each part of the palace.

Breathtaking and Captivating place. The fort is so beautiful that you can spend an entire day exploring and falling more and more in love with the place. It is good to take a local guide there as they will detail you on all the stories and unheard tales behind the fort.

It is marvelous. Nothing more to add. If you had not seen these magnificent structures, it is beyond my words to express it in letters. A must-see when you are in Jaipur. There are so many varieties of colors and paintings. And it is so big to roam around.

I had an amazing time there. The beauty of this fort will astonish you. It built-in 967CE and still holds its beauty. My suggestion will be to pick a guide with you who will narrate you about its history because listening about 1000yrs old history is worth to know about. Many inside. Halls of that time. A long boundary around 500m high. A view from that boundary is mesmerizing.

This is the place that everyone imagines in his dreams. This fort shows the lavish lifestyle of the king and how the people lived in the past years. It is a must-visit place if you are in Jaipur. I would recommend if you are going to visit this place please take a guide with you. So you can know the details of the fort. The best time to visit this place is in the early mornings otherwise in the sun you will get tired easily.

Not as big as I thought, and not on the scale of other historical landmarks in India.
The famous facade that you can see from the street is the most impressive part, and I was less impressed with the interior than I had expected. If pressed for time, I'd prefer to see the fortresses and simply walk the streets. Still an impressive sight, but with so many other competing sites in India, this one does not deserve top tier recognition.

Must visit. If possible then take a guide also. Because their you Will experience so many ancient memories .....that you can't relate them without a guide. They're also so many points for clicking pics and there are so many small shops on the road that they sell so many good items at a very cheap rate. Try to buy items from footpath instead of going for big shops. Because they are also selling the same things at cheap rates. And try to make their life better.

There are a lot of things to see and do around Jaipur, and some of them are worth the hype. This place is truly awe-inspiring and well worth a visit. We arrived early enough in the morning to take the elephant ride up the hill (900 rupees per 2 passengers, but worth it). Then explore around the fort and palace itself and take in the beautiful views. The only negative for me was all the touts trying to sell you junk you can get in any shop in town for 75% less. Don't even look at them, even swat them away like flies and they will look for easier prey. Kids loved seeing a snake charmer, and some musicians, and of course the elephants.

TIP: Also there will be "unofficial" photographers who take your photos on the elephants. Later, when they somehow find you and attempt to sell you the photos for 700 rupees, say no and keep walking. The more you say no, the lower the price goes... and if you're crafty you can get all your photos for about 100 or 200 rupees (per photographer).

One of the most well-maintained palaces around Jaipur and a very famous tourist spot. It is a must-visit tourist destination in Jaipur. It is up a hill which is around 15km from the city. On its way, there is a stepwell which is famous for its water storing capacity. Make sure you have enough time on your hand while you visit as it is a huge place. Entry fee is and a tourist guide may cost you a minimum of $10.

By far the unmissable place to visit in the whole of Jaipur. Mesmerizing views in the drive up to the fort cum palace. Unlike other places, it's recommended to hire a guide here as there is so much info that would go unnoticed otherwise. The gates open at 8 am and it can get crowded by 9-10, so it's best to be the first to get tickets at 8. Tales, legacies, myths, and mysteries are galore in this vast architectural marvel. Enjoy your visit, I surely did

This fortress on top of a hill is accessible by jeeps or cars. It's well preserved. There are many interesting things to see and the view from the fort is amazing. There are a few curio shops inside the fort.
There is ample parking. Shops sell water and snacks also up there.
There was a smell of urine at the winding approach road which needs to be looked into.

Excellent and marvelous beauty of the royal kingdom of Jaipur. Beautifully preserved by Rajasthan tourism. Girls don't wear heels as you won't be able to walk around and see the palace relax way. I was here in rainy monsoon and the view from here is breathtaking one. Excellent and must-visit if you are in Jaipur.

One star less only because it becomes too crowded on public holidays, thus spoiling the overall experience of such a majestic fort. Yes, majestic is the name of the game here and every corner of the Aamer Fort has a story to tell. I would recommend a guide as they ensure your trip is interesting by sharing tons of anecdotes. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes to be able to walk up to the top of the fort and explore it completely.
It is a must-visit in Jaipur and is among the largest forts in India, with brilliant architecture and rich history.

A really impressive place. The massive fort with the huge thick red walls dominates the whole area. There are elephants at the entrance but I recommend to go on foot. One more beautiful piece of the rich heritage of India. It is worth a visit!

A nice looking fort with an interesting history and lots of opportunities for nice photos. Cost $50 for foreigners and there are lots of guides to choose from. The guides will usually not leave you alone until you choose one.

Our guide was insistent ongoing through many details we didn’t care about since we’d said we were in a hurry. I forget his name but not everyone would be like that. We paid $5 for 30 minutes so it wasn’t so expensive.

Such an incredible place! Great piece of architecture. You'll find amazing facts about Indian history and very photogenic also. You can even drive your car on the ramp or walk and you'll have an elephant ride till it's the gate. This fort is well conserved and the view from the palace is breathtaking. A must visit the site with family and friends. The palace looks dazzling at night.

It's a historical place& it's beautiful .. Nice to see the rich heritage of Indian kings. This place is superb, the walls to the ceiling and the floor and the doors everything thing is well designed and it looks fantastic here guide is also available they guide this place very clearly and makes us understand and this place is photogenic .overall this place is fantastic and must visit this place. It comes in monsoon season this seems very beautiful.

The Pride of Jaipur. The Pride of Jaipur. .. "Amber Palace" visit to feel the ways of Royal family feel and one will enter into that era of time. What marvelously constructed covering an "Amber Palace" visit to feel the ways of Royal family feel and one will enter into that era of time. What marvelously constructed covering a waste area. If one doesn't visit Amber Palace than its that one didn't visit Jaipur at all.

As bad as the idea of going for a tour to an old castle might sound at first, you'll be absorbed into the picturesque views from multiple balconies and the winding hallways and mysterious rooms, all with a rich history behind them. A guide is in no shape or form required if you want to freely explore the place. I'd suggest otherwise.

Very Beautiful tourist place in the Pink City Jaipur. If you come here then make sure you have enough time. If you are not very known about this place then make sure you have a guide so that you can know this palace better in every aspect. Inside the palace, you will find stalls that sell traditional Rajasthani items. For a break Cafe, Coffee Day is also present inside the palace.

Visiting Amer fort will be one of the greatest experiences. The size and architecture of the fort are amazing! Make sure to hire a guide. It will take approx 3 hours to see the fort. The location is amazing and from the top, you get an amazing view.

Amber Palace is a little away from Jaipur city, has ticket entry and is also shut for a few hours in the day. In the evening they open doors and then open again at 7 pm we finally got inside. The Palace is truly a Palace. My most favs were the main entrance that's made up of lovely carving and colors and then the mirror work part of the Palace. Because we entered so late it got prettier with all the lights inside and outside of the different areas in the Palace. You can hire a guide who will tell you the details of the Palace. Do not miss the yummy food and the best service ever at the restaurant that you will have to look for before you exit the Palace!

Must visit the place to explore if you are in Jaipur, the place has it's own aura, you can see it's marvelous structure, there are many forts inside of it and you have to Trek to the fort if you are going with an elderly person there is a car service available. Tickets price is rs 100 for adults and if you are a student you can buy it for 10 rs by showing your id card. The view from the top is awesome ?.

A large and picturesque palace to visit... Don't forget to hire the services of a local tour guide inside the palace... you can also reach here by riding an elephant, but it is costly... A small canteen inside provides a variety of snacks and soft drinks... A light & sound show at night is also worth to watch...

During this trip, we got to know that you can visit the fort at night as well. It opens again ar around 6:30 pm and remains open till 10:00 pm. The night view is awesome, and everyone must try. Most of the parts of the palace are lit up with colorful lights, so they look awesome. Also, many policemen are there for security, and they are very humble, so no issue of safety. Just avoid visiting dark corners, they look really scary and creepy.

It is amazing to see such mentioned palace nowadays. Amber palace is surrounded by Hills which gives an awesome view. The lighting show took almost an hour. If you have well history knowledge then you will like this show.

The construction of Amer fort began in the year 1529AD and was started by man Singh-I.the exterior of the fort is not the least like its interiors. interiors that are influenced by both Hindu and Muslim style.on the walls are paintings depicting various hunting scenes and there is also a lot of work on walls which are covered with intricate carving, mosaic and mirror work that make the halls look very majestic and imperial.
The fort is built with white marble and red sandstone and looks even more attractive because of the manta lake in the foreground.

The Palace is divided into six separate but main sections each with its entry gate and courtyard. The main entry is through the Suraj Pol (Sun Gate) which leads to the first main courtyard. This was the place where armies would hold victory parades with their war bounty on their return from battles, which were also witnessed by the Royal family's womenfolk through the latticed windows.

It's a historical place and it's BEAUTIFUL! ... It's a blessing to see the rich heritage of Indian kings. The palace is huge. Each room of the palace has a significant role to play and a guide explains it very properly...  the walls to the ceilings and the floor and the doors everything is intricately designed and looks very Beautiful... It's a must-visit place!!

Amber Fort also known as Amer Fort is one of the famous tourist spots of Jaipur. We can get an awesome view of the Pink City Jaipur from the Fort. The entry fee is 100INR for Indians. The government guide is easily available if you want to opt for a cost of 200INR. Our guide narrated the tales of the Palace very well and it was interesting to see the Palace. The carvings are awesome made on sandstone and marbles. Well maintained by the tourism of Jaipur. A must visit the place during your visit to Jaipur.

The treatment of these majestic elephants is beyond appalling! I can't believe mindless tourists forget about the magnificent beings forced to shuttle them around! People need jobs in India, why the hell don't you hire people to physically cart tourists around instead of using and abusing elephants.

It's a magnificent fort. One should visit forts like this to get a peek into the architectural advancement our ancestors achieved. If you are a student you're in luck as it charges a nominal fee if you show a valid student ID. It is also advised to take the audio tour if you have sufficient time.

Amer is one of most visiting place in Jaipur Rajasthan. It is a historical place. It's beautiful. You will find an amazing fact about Indian history. You will find an amazing way to survive. You can do photoshoot also.
Many historical things are exhibited there.
I had a great time there with my friends and family. You should visit in the rainy season it's awesome.
The food facility is available there. Public transport is also available to the city ( Jaipur). Online cabs are always available.
Tickets are valuable.
Students should carry their id card so that they can visit in no money.
A good place for having fun.

This is a wonderful palace and fort located in America,  Rajasthan, India.  America is town 10 to 11km away from the current capital city of a Jaipur. Amer fort/palace is a mixture of Mughal and Rajput style of architecture.  The fort is red due to the use of Red Sandstones. Even today the palace is in good condition and well maintained. This place is declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Amber palace, also known as Amer Palace is a wander located 10 miles away from Jaipur city. The Royal Family has surprisingly preserved this place for a long time now. Anyone could easily find a way to get in the Palace. Once you are inside the palace, it has a view worth watching. The serene Lake and Hills that surround the boundaries of the Palace. The palace is still functional. People of Amer live around the palace for their livelihood. As a Gov. Of India undertaking, it is kept clean and tidy all the time.
I have given you a glimpse of Amber fort. It is worth visiting.

Amber fort is worth a visit. It is beautifully located on the road from Amber to Jaipur and there is so much to see. You can reach the fort by elephant or by jeep or even by walking. The architecture of the fort is very well preserved, especially in the mirror hall. Don't forget to enjoy the view of the surrounding area.

Beautiful place. Beautiful architecture. Beautiful history. Please don't miss this and don't forget to take a guide to listen to the stories and lose yourself in the rich history. Have fun exploring and taking photos and learning the history. And don't forget to respect the heritage. Have an elephant ride if you can afford. Enjoy!

The wonderful old palace is full of history. It's advisable to have a guide to be able to appreciate this incredible building. Do not use elephants to take you up to the palace, it is cruel and very hot for them to go up the steep hill. This practice should be stopped.

An icon of History of Jaipur, the biggest and the most prominent of all the forts of Jaipur. The palace inside is still preserved and tells of the ballad of kings. The old fort is situated much higher and it is splendid as per its construction period. One should visit it while touring Jaipur. The local guides can help with interesting stories related to the fort.

A historical destination in Jaipur. Beautifully designed and architect. A must visit the site with family and friends. The great monument of ancient Indian architecture. The fun part of the visiting of the Amber palace is an elephant ride from the parking place to the palace. The palace itself is better to visit with the guide. So, you can enjoy not only the views but also have a chance to find out some interesting facts.

It is also known as Amer fort.  A historical destination in Jaipur.  Beautifully designed and architect.  It is a huge place with a lot of enclaves.  My favorite is the glass room with walls made from a mosaic of mirrors. Also, there is an elephant ?? ride which were awesome.

Amber Palace is truly a magnificent monument, you'll be amazed by the architecture and the uniqueness of this place, the Hathi dome is well known for its unique design, but one must have enough energy to climb the palace, you can also get Hathi ride here and in front of palace there are more than 300 stars but the view from that place is extremely worth climbing 300 stairs, though the maintenance is required after all these years palace stands tall and beautiful.
A must visit??

A must visit a Tourist Destination. Amazing architecture and heritage of Rajput kings on display. It takes you to the past. Reaching up the hill is a task if you driving on own, better take a hire a local ride. Get a good guide, you will find many as you reach the place.

I just loved this place. It's breathtaking. Your Jaipur trip would be incomplete without going to Amer palace. This place is good for young people and kids but senior citizens and people with a problem in their legs or back have it difficult to reach here cause it's located on quite a high altitude. I recommend a visit to this place.

One of the popular forts in Jaipur. It is situated at a high altitude. You can even drive your car on the ramp or walk or have an elephant ride till its gate. Its a must-visit place in Jaipur. It is having great ancient architecture. It is around 11km from Jaipur city

It's a good place to visit, an amazing view and a nice environment too. It's too good when visited from July to September. The palace lets us memorize the history of ancient and modern culture too but the crowded area with a good environment around the day.

It is also known as Amer fort. What a wonderful fort it is. You just get amazed by its architecture, carvings, and paintings. I loved this fort most in Jaipur Rajasthan. You get an awesome view from the top. You just get a glimpse of how the Royals must have lived. I was so much fascinated by its beauty. I will highly recommend everyone to visit this place if you are in Jaipur.

Since it covers a large area, it's quite tough to be with a child. Apart from this, the fort is very clean. You can enjoy an elephant/ camel ride from the front entrance or else you can take your vehicle right at the entrance from the backside. The music and light show is also very nice. The palace looks dazzling at night with all lights on.

The biggest fortress I've ever seen in my life. It took me 5 hours to go around and see most of the secret places inside. Here, Arabian and Hindu architecture styles are organically melted together, which creates an unforgettable impression.
If you have time, I would advise staying here for the full day, because light and sound show held at dusk is worth visiting.

This magnificent fort comprises an extensive palace complex, built from pale yellow and pink sandstone, and white marble, and is divided into four main sections, each with its courtyard. It is possible to visit the fortress on elephant-back, but animal welfare groups have criticized the keeping of elephants at Amber because of reports of abuse, and because carrying passengers can cause lasting injuries to the animals.

A good place to visit. Do not take the Jeep to go up the fort it's a waste of money. If you can't walk try to convince the driver of your cab to take you up, it's not worth spending for a short distance.
Try to take a guide but mind you he will only try to convince you regarding the handloom product made nearby and will take you to his recommend shop and you will end up buying a product at a price three times more than the market.  The guide will also take you to a gold medalist astrologer who provides free service. Lastly good to visit with a guide but DON'T FALL INTO HIS TRAP

We had just checked in our Hotel and rain showers were expected, in evening, we immediately made a program to see the light and sound show at Amber Fort, when on way, rain started and the weather was pleasant, during the show, it was cold waves coming as the show was in open and beautifully located and was a wonderful show in terms of lighting, sound, and script, there are other shows in Jaipur, but show at Amber is the best one, must-watch when visiting to Jaipur. Kids also enjoyed and taxi is also easily available.

One point to be noted, there might be cases when authorities have to cancel the shows due to Rain and no electricity, hence keep a watch on that.

It's fascinating and gorgeous, with amazing hilltop views. The Hindu temple there is well used by locals, and u can be blessed there. Be sure to ring the bell to announce your presence before the goddess. The ambiance of a king, up the palace by elephant ride early morning till noon. Superb experience.. must try. Sitting behind the elephant back on the ride is like rodeo rocking left and right.. grip tightly on chair frame for safety. You may choose to take the jeep ride down. The palace has many chambers 12 wives even king Harlem court which is only for ladies. The chamber makes of imported glass on the walls, dome and ceiling are unique.

What I like about this place is the way it still shows the heritage of the kingdom and their ways of life.
Keep at least 2-3 hours to fully explore the palace and its beauty.
There is a fair share of walking and climbing step stairs involved.
Keep that in mind.

More to see inside than the Red Fort in Delhi. Sad to see elephants being put to work outside. You don't have to ride them, there is a footpath up. Gorgeous interior palaces, great for history lovers. pay-to-use toilets have a few rupees.
Most amazing palace. The view from the palace is breathtaking. Since it covers a large area, it's quite tough to be with a child. Apart from this, the fort is very clean. Amber Palace is a great place to see ancient architecture.  It is a huge place with a lot of enclaves. My favorite is the glass room with walls made from a mosaic of mirrors.  There is a restroom available but it would be good to have signs to point where it is at.  My friends and I enjoyed taking pictures all over the palace.  One of the great sites in Jaipur!

The vibes of this place are extraordinary. You'll feel you've traveled back in the time of the Maharajas of Rajasthan. The palace is majestic sitting at the top of the Aravallis. To reach the palace from the parking, you've two options- walking or take the electric buggies which will charge you some money. Once you reach the top, there's a courtyard which has got a refreshment shop and toilets and then you'll have to buy tickets to get inside the main palace. If you're a student and you're carrying some ID then you'll be getting the tickets cheaper. Overall, the palace is a nice place to visit.

In Jaipur this is the only place where you can spend some time to see lots of things..  there is Wall, as a safety wall. From this, we can understand how old Kings are focused on Safety and all things. There are many rooms and floors to visit. Good to Visit.

Beautiful views of nearby areas and valleys. A very good architectural design and we can see the efforts put by the workers at those times and what kind of luxurious life used to live by the rulers. There are different buildings structures for different purposes.

Visited in April, which is quite hot but tries to visit this in the morning so that you can avoid traffic and crowd. Elephant ride is also available if you want which will cost you additional @ $100for 2 people. Rich Architecture but too crowded. Even in all the heat people were pouring in. But the fort is so beautiful one must visit during their trip to Jaipur. Loved the ancient techniques and natural colors used to build the palaces.

While not the oldest or most spectacularly sited forts, approachable and doable in a morning. Doesn't open till 9, so get there before 9 to be with the first crowds and beat the heat and be back to Jaipur for lunch. Elephants present a tough one - if it's going to be your bucket lister - do it. They seem pretty well cared for, and the ride up is just the right amount of scary. Otherwise, walk up yourself and admire the ramparts and waterworks. Guards told us to spot the crocodile.

When it comes to visiting Amer Fort then it is universal truth that it is a largest and best fort in Rajasthan which is representing Rajputana heritage and being an Indian,I love the beauty of this place and I am quite evident that when someone visits this place he will also love this fort because it is amazing and beyond expectations. Moreover, even a person cannot believe that how masons can construct such a building without any design methods because, at that time, neither limit state nor working stress methods of designs were present. Furthermore, pals if you are in Jaipur and you have ample time then you ought to visit this place. At last, I would describe this place in one word i.e.Spectacular.Love Amer Fort

Amber Palace is a place where you can find art in every single thing. It is possible to visit the fortress on elephant-back, but animal welfare groups have criticized the keeping of elephants at Amber because of reports of abuse, and because carrying passengers can cause lasting injuries to the animals.

This venue is almost beyond description. You must go if you have any free time in Jaipur. It will take some time and you must have a guide to enhance the experience with a history of the place and the significance of so many of the structures. For those interested, there is a caravan of elephants that provide rides from the road level to the entrance gate. We did not try it because of the line that had assembled by the time we arrived. Large sections of the palace are open for you to roam at your own pace and even though many tourists were on the grounds, the palace is so expansive that it never felt too crowded.

An expansive palace with lush greenery around. The craftsmanship and architecture are top-notch. The mirror embedded hall looks spectacular. Stay away from hawkers and guides who try to fleece you by taking to some dyeing centers around.
