city palace at Jaipur

This is an amazing palace. We went on holiday, so we too must rush there. The area covered is huge and the architecture is brilliant! Every part of this palace has a story and history understanding it takes time - hence patience is required. The beauty of this place has survived the test of time. As you make your way through this palace you get transported into an era of ancient magnificence. I would recommend this as a place to visit and to do so in at a leisurely pace. Perfect place for photographers & skills to click.

This was an interesting place to visit, which blends Mughal and Rajasthani styles - an elegant place to live, although the private quarters currently occupy only a small part. If you're into costumes and arms there are quite decent collections here. A visit to the City Palace is not to be missed. The palace is huge and a part of it is still occupied by the royal family although entry is restricted to that

area. The other part is worth seeing too with many things on display to see like horses & elephant jewelry worn during royal rides.

Growing up in Jaipur, whenever any out of town relatives visited us, City palace is one place we would take them to. I love architecture and displays. It's better to take a professional guide here to learn all the interesting stories and historical tidbits. A must visit on your list, it is better to go for the basic tour (entry fee $5 pp) as compared to the Palace visit (rs. $100 pp). The armory section has wonderful pieces of the past, which confirms their skills and knowledge of designing and utilizing metal. The use of jade, crocodile skin, intricate designs on the dainty sword/knife handles is worth spending time on. Even the carpets, plate covers, garments, that the royal family used had intricate work of embroidery, Jaipuri block prints, finest cotton, 320 pleats, some rare work to see.

Royal and grand amazing palace museum showcasing the history of Jaipur with important events and items. You will feel the history and royalty of Kings.  It is a unique and arresting complex architecture with old age art and great decoration. This is the most seen heritage of Jaipur from tourists all over the world. Best place for history lovers. !!

A very good place to visit, with all the information related to the life of ancient Rajasthan rulers and about their empire. Ensure that you don't take photos there, as they are not allowed. If you are a tourist or a history fan, you must not miss this place. It has information related to their dress, their weapons their empire, their family, etc…
It's an absolute delight to visit this place. It's massive, beautiful takes you back to the era of royalty. The textile museum gives you an insight into use if different fabrics and using it creates beautiful clothes in different times of history.
The Saba is beautiful and lively. I just loved staring at all the paintings and being part of the calm and joy this place brings.

It's a place that holds historical significance for the city of Jaipur. Being close to Hawa Mahal and Rani bazaar it can be visited simultaneously with the two. The place would be very interesting for a history lover but will offer very less for those who aren't much of history fans. The palace lacks good food stalls and is a symbol of the extravagant life of the Jaipur Royalty.

I love this place. Beautiful. Amazing. You may feel that it is a bit costly but if you are on a trip then just after purchasing the ticket for City Palace you may consider purchasing a Composite Ticket (8 spots are covered in the same ticket)
Though you won't be allowed to take pictures of the inside of many sections. At those spots simply soak in the things in your mind. No one gonna take or stop things from there. There is a Buggy ride just in case you wish to have the feel royalty. There is much special treatment if your budget is high.

Least maintained the place, with no tourists, no signboards, no cleanliness,
I felt pity for such a famous monument, turned to just a "Kandahar" by totally callous authorities.
Not to talk of city palace, all the historical and world-famous heritage sites have been turned to garbage by indifferent attitudes of persons answerable for all this.
Will anybody listen and rise to the occasion and do something for restoring the glory of these world-famous monuments and that also of the Pink city of Jaipur.

Superb palace to visit. Make sure to take a paid tour Full or Grandeur as per your budget. On the tour, they show you the private areas of the palace. The guides are trained in photography as well so they click very good photos of you while showing the palace.
city palace at Jaipur

.Must go for all travelers. As the name suggests city palace its the palace where the current king stays with his family. Most of the palace is opened for the public except for some part where the royal family resides. But you can go to that area by paying 3k extra. My favorite part the beautiful doors and big silver pots. They have museums in the city palace.
While City palace is a touristy point. You can go inside the palace and take one of the exits towards the old city. You will find smaller bazaars to explore out there. One of them is Johri bazaar and marble bazaar. Even locals don't know about these gems

Last summer, I got a chance to visit the city palace in Jaipur and that palace architecture is enough to woo you. Each part of this palace has a story so one needs at least one hour to capture its whole beauty. You will feel it is a bit costly but if you are on the trip then spending some penny to visit 8 places is not a bad deal.
If you are a fan of heritage sites then this is the must-visit place. You will learn lots of things from the city palace and the museum also consists of the king and queen's cloths which is delightful to watch. I hope I will soon visit this palace again.
city palace Jaipur

The City Palace of Jaipur is one of the major attractions of Jaipur. The palace complex has several buildings, various courtyards, galleries, museums and offices of the Museum Trust. It continues to be the home of the Jaipur royal family and the partial portion of the palace is occupied by them. There is an entry fee of Rs. 75 for Indians and Rs. 300 for foreigners. However, there is a certain area inside the palace which is accessible by purchasing a separate ticket with additional cost and it is a bit expensive. Near the entrance gate, there is a studio who clicked your photograph with traditional Rajasthani attire. You will have to pay them if you want to have a copy of those photographs. The collection of clothes of the Royal family in the museum would catch your attention. The collection of weapons and old vehicles are really impressive. There are certain areas where photography is prohibited. If you are in Jaipur and fond of Indian heritage sites, then The City Palace of Jaipur should be definitely in your itinerary.
